Christine Finds Volunteering Inspiring
Christine smiles when she talks about the time she has spent at Covenant House California (CHC). It’s been a positive experience for her. “I just feel like these kids have been through so much. Just to see what Covenant House is doing for them is inspiring to me.”
Christine has been volunteering for Covenant House for over a year now. She has contributed her time by writing stories about the kids for the website. She enjoys it because it gives her a chance to interview the kids and get to know their stories. She also has been a part of Covenant House California’s Annual Gala by assisting in its production. Eventually, she has hopes of becoming a mentor.
Originally from Wisconsin, Christine works in the Hollywood industry. She worked with a well-known television writer-producer for several years and now spends her time developing projects for TV and film. She says that her involvement with Covenant House came from a desire to give back to the community. “Volunteering at Covenant House just seemed right for me. I love working with older kids. I discovered CHC’s web site and read about the volunteering opportunities and decided to give it a try.”
Christine says that she has found volunteering to be an extremely rewarding experience for her. “It gives me a different perspective on life. My time here uplifts me. It’s just a good thing to do. It’s good to give, because when you give, you receive.”
