On January 14th and 15th, Jeff Lloyd, President of Horizon Realty, class 7sx race driver and a continuing supporter of Covenant House California (CHC) participated in the Laughlin Desert Challenge.
The Laughlin Desert Challenge offers a unique format for desert racers. Rather than the typical long distance endurance race, the challenge is comprised of four 13.8-mile laps on both Saturday and Sunday. Although, short in length, the race is tough and the even the most advanced drivers can find the race to be difficult.
For the Desert Challenge this year, Jeff had a special guest riding with him-CHC board member Dr. Adrienne Matros. The pair participated in the race (which included losing a a rear fender) and also passed out materials promoting Covenant House California. Jeff dedicated the race to CHC and even had Covenant House California painted on his vehicle!
Jeff is a special friend of Covenant House California. In 2005, along with Keyshawn Johnson and Brittany Murphy, he was presented with CHC’s Platinum Dove Award for his company’s extraordinary philanthropic support. Jeff has shown his devotion to CHC’s kids many times by providing internships and employment. He even recently helped one young man achieve his goal to become a licensed real estate agent. He is deeply committed to helping the kids of CHC realize that they, too, can make it to the top.
We appreciate Jeff’s continued support of CHC and wish him luck in his next race!
