Jeff Lloyd Gives in Many Different Ways
Jeff Lloyd believes in Covenant House California. He believes in CHC’s program and most importantly, he believes in the potential of the CHC kids.
Born in New York, Jeff had a challenging life growing up. He never had a stable home life—dealing with foster care, abuse, and oftentimes bouncing from home to home. Jeff even spent time homeless and on the streets of Hollywood himself before becoming a success in real estate. His personal experience on the streets is one of the reasons why he cares so much about our kids.
In addition to his substantial support as a donor, Jeff has contributed his time by speaking to the CHC kids about the possibilities that lie ahead for them and what they can achieve. Using his own life story, Jeff inspires our youth to achieve great things for themselves. But possibly Jeff’s greatest contribution is that he has offered internships and employment to CHC kids.
Jeff loves to talk about Tommy, a CHC youth who he mentored and ultimately employed. Tommy started at Jeff’s company, Horizon Realty, answering the phones and slowly gaining additional responsibilities. Eventually, with Jeff’s assistance, Tommy earned his real estate license and is now managing properties in New York. Jeff said it was an arduous process, but Tommy was a natural salesman. When asked what he got out of helping Tommy, he says simply, “I’ve helped Tommy become a successful man. What more could anyone want?”
