A Message from the
Executive Director

As many of you know, Covenant House California provides hope to homeless kids living on the streets of Los Angeles and the Bay Area. We reach out to those, often abandoned and abused by the VERY PEOPLE responsible for their care.

However, our Hollywood Crisis Shelter has been operating above full capacity since 1996. And in Northern California, our Bay Area program doesn’t have a permanent shelter to serve the needs of homeless youth. Each night too many kids on the streets have nowhere to turn.

This is why I am very pleased to announce the launching of the public phase of this Capital Campaign to expand our Hollywood shelter and create a permanent home for our Bay Area homeless youth.

This endeavor will change things dramatically at CHC! We are expanding our Shelter in Hollywood to increase from sheltering 72 kids on campus each night to sheltering 94. And in the Bay Area, the new shelter will house 30 youth each night. That’s a total of 52 more kids each night, 550 more kids each year with 19,000 additional nights of care, and over 32,000 additional meals.

It’s like a dream come true, and not only for the staff, donors and volunteers, but most especially for the kids. Therefore, this campaign will save an ADDITIONAL 550 kids each year, over 5,500 in a decade.

This campaign will make a difference and you can too! If you or someone you know is interested in participating in our Capital Campaign, please contact our Development team at 1-866-COV-DOVE.

Sincerely,

George R. Lozano
Executive Director
